Buying a vehicle is always a very hard choice. You can go to a dealer and get a brand new vehicle or a used vehicle. You can also choose between a 2 door car, 4 door car, sports car, wagon, truck, SUV, or any other style. Then, you have color choices and options to think about. You can also get a vehicle at a seized auction that the state holds and save a ton of money and a ton of choices.

The vehicle hunt can be a blast as well. Auctions are a lot of fun for those of us that participate in them. They save us a lot of money and allow us to get the things we need for very cheap. You can get a 2-4 year old vehicle for less than a thousand dollars if you get lucky at one of these auctions. There are a few things to remember when you are buying at a seized auction.

First, do not get emotionally attached to any one vehicle. This is what kills most bidders and causes them not to get such a great deal. When you allow yourself to get emotionally attached to a vehicle you will pay more than if you look at it as an investment and know what your maximum bid will be. If you get outbid do not let it worry you because there are always more vehicles and more auctions.

Second, don’t be the first one to bid unless it gets down to the minimum bid. Auctioneers are out to make money and usually get paid a percentage of the sales price, so the tend to try to push the price as much as possible. If you wait they will drop the bid, if no one bids, until someone does bid or it gets to the minimum bid. This can save you a ton of money because you may walk away as the only bidder and really get a great deal.

Third, be patient with your bidding. There are going to be some dealers at these auctions that will be trying to buy a certain amount of cars and then they will be done. This is good for you because once they fill their quota they will drop out of the game and you will have one less person to bid against. Many dealers want to get their vehicles and get out of there too, so if you have a little patience you can get a great deal on a good vehicle.

Now you have three tips to use at your next auctions. Just remember to keep your emotions out of the decision and bidding, be patient with your bidding, and only be the first bidder if the bid is the minimum bid. This will help you get the best deal possible at the auctions.
