Tip #3.
It is not normally possible to have a test drive in the vehicles. You are allowed to start the engines and run them. This of course means that unless you know the actual history of the car at the impound auction you wish to bid on, you need to check it out. If you are not mechanically minded, then contact your local mechanic and perhaps offer to buy them a meal or give them drinks in return, A small token here could save you from a lemon later on.
Tip #4.
Contact the people organizing the impound auction you intend going to beforehand. Ask them about the procedure for payment and registration details. You have to be registered before you are entitled to bid. Perhaps explain that you are new to this and ask what tips they can give you about the auction.
Tip #5.
Get there early so you are relaxed and feel in control. You should also give some thought to obtaining temporary insurance cover for the car you buy at the impound auction. You should also have previously found out about how and when you get the car you have just bought.
Getting the lists of those car impound auctions near to you is the next thing to organize. Good luck with the bidding.!!
About the author:
Don’t have time to shop around trying to get together details of the various car impound auction sales?
A better way is to register with one organization that maintains a reliable database of all upcoming impound auctions. This means you get all the updated information without wasting hours running around. Here is one that I find always gives great results.
